SPEED GRAZING the Swan Valley ! If you’re a “savoury buff”, have a healthy appetite for great tasting food and friendly fun then this is the tour for you! After picking up tour guests in Perth, our final pickup and meeting place is the historic town of Guildford. Guildford is only 13km’s from Perth and the major Gateway to The Swan Valley, Perth’s Valley of taste. Enjoy a brief insight into the history of the Swan River Settlement with informative commentary and viewing of the historic buildings dating back to the beginning of the Colony.
Yahava Koffee Works
Start your afternoon Perth Tour with an exciting visit to Yahava Koffee Works. Here you will sample coffees from around the world, as well as refreshing iced Coffee and Chai Latte. You will then sample chocolate coated coffee beans, while witnessing the roasting, blending and grinding of the beans.
Margaret River Chocolate Company
Our Swan Valley Tour continues with an assault on the Margaret River Chocolate Company for generous chocolate tasting.This Chocolate company is the only privately-owned business recognised as a West Australian Icon in a special edition of the internationally best-selling board game monopoly.
Providore – Margaret River
In addition to the delicious chocolate, you will also explore an extensive range of providore like jams, chutneys, massage oils and other decadent products. Cheeses, meats, and other savoury treats are also available to purchase. Tasting of alcoholic chocolate liqueurs and awarded wines are also on offer.
Lavender Bar & Bistro
Next stop on the tour will be Lavender Bar & Bistro, to sample unique lavender infused scones, jam, cream and refreshing tea. You can also taste a range of lavender oils, jams, honey and unique lavender wines. There is also a sensuous gift shop to browse on this leg of the tour.
Taylors Art & Coffee House
Meet resident local artist – Jude Taylor –and share her personal stories surrounding family and national artistic acclaim. Sample a tasty treat based on the Swan Valley’s recognition as the First Humane Region in Australia.
The House of Honey & Meadery
One of the more unique tour destinations will be visited next, The House of Honey. The House of Honey proudly specialises in pure, unpasturized and unadulterated varietal honeys. Rupert the beekeeper who started keeping bees at the age of 8 only harvests honey when the bees have capped the cells allowing the honey to fully ripen and mature into an exceptional taste.Explore the extensive range of alcoholic meads on offer.
Twin Hill Wines
Our tour will visit Twin Hill Wines, owned and operated by the Kraljevich Family since 1937. Visit the rustic cellar door within the heart of the winery surrounded by family history. Sample premium still and fortified wines, local handcrafted gourmet cheeses and marinated Kalamatta and Sicilian olives. Bulk wine and oak barrels also available for purchase.
Seasonal Roadside Stall Visit – as seasonal produce becomes available our tour will visit selected roadside stalls to sample fresh produce direct from the growers.
Harvest Calendar – (Dec-Feb) – Apricots, Capsicum, Chilies, Corn, Cucumber, Eggplant, Figs, Garlic, Gem Squash, Grapes, Honeydew Melon, Nectarines, Peaches, Plums, Potatoes, Rockmelon, Tomatoes, Watermelon. Autumn (Mar-May) – Apples, Capsicum, Corn, Eggplant, Gem Squash, Grapes*, Limes, Macadamia nuts, Mangoes, Nectarines, Olives, Peaches, Pears, Pecan Nuts, Potatoes, Pumpkin, Sweet Corn, Tomatoes, Watermelon* (*until April only) Winter (June-August) – Apples, Beans, Lemons, Mandarins, Oranges, Pears, Peas, Pumpkin, Strawberries. Spring (September – November) Apples, Asparagus, Beans, Garlic, Mandarins, Oranges, Pears, Rhubarb, Salad Onions, Strawberries.
Our Swan Valley Perth Tour concludes with an icy cold beer, alcoholic/ non-alcoholic ginger beer or cider at multi internationally award winning Ironbark Brewery. Ironbark Brewery boasts the largest range of beers in the Valley, 48 at the last count!!. Our “speed grazing” has slowed to a leisurely “kick back” and an opportunity to try one of Ironbark Brewery’s famous “Wood Fired Pizzas” before heading homeward.
